When an intruder is detected by your intrusion detection system, it sends a notification to our alarm receiving centre (ARC). This notification occurs within seconds of the initial activation. The ARC verifies intrusion detection system activation and dispatches the closest available mobile security officer to your location. A security guard will be dispatched to your business with your pre-arranged set of keys stored in a secure container. Once on-site, the security guard will first conduct an external perimeter check, identifying any evidence of intruder activity, security breaches, or other security concerns. Once determined that it is safe to do so, the security guard will enter the building using your keys and conduct an internal search of the premises. The security guard will identify the reason for the activation of the intrusion detection system (a legitimate intruder, a false alarm, environmental conditions, or a problem with the system itself). The security guard will then secure the premises and reset the alarm system as necessary. If emergency services are needed, the security guard will also notify them. After the response, you will be provided with a detailed report of the incident that occurred, along with photographs of the affected area(s) and recommendations for future improvements to minimise the likelihood of similar incidents from occurring. During the entire process, the ARC will maintain communication with the on-site security guard.
Yes, regularly inspecting vacant properties is an important part of our Keyholding Service. When residential homes are left vacant on holiday, commercial premises are left vacant between tenants, or investment properties are being prepared for sale we conduct these inspections regularly as well. We send one of our key guards to check the vacant property at the agreed-upon interval (weekly, biweekly, or monthly). They will be checking for signs of intruders or other unauthorized persons in the building; for any potential security breach; any environmental problems (such as leaks or broken heat); for any potential fire hazards; if there has been any act of vandalism; if anyone has taken up residence illegally (squatters); and how the overall condition of the property looks. If requested, our key guard can also turn the lights/heating on/off so it appears someone is still living in the building, collect mail, and ensure all doors are properly locked. Vacant Property Checks help meet insurance requirements for vacant buildings and give you peace of mind while you are away from your home for long periods of time.
